Victor Osimhen transfer update as 'agreement' in place after Chelsea bid

---

Victor Osimhen could still leave Napoli in the coming weeks, despite the closure of the summer transfer window in Italy. Chelsea had been strongly linked with the Nigerian international throughout the recent transfer period, intensifying their efforts to sign him before the deadline last Friday at 11 pm.

Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli also expressed interest, with terms agreed for a transfer valued at just under £70 million. However, they opted to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford instead, leaving Osimhen still in Italy.

Recent developments suggest that Osimhen’s future at Napoli under Antonio Conte is uncertain. He was notably omitted from the squad for their match against Parma, where Romelu Lukaku, who took Osimhen's shirt number, scored on his debut and helped Napoli complete a dramatic late comeback.

Conte has made it clear that players not part of his plans will remain excluded. "No player will be reintegrated," Conte stated. “Those who are out of the project will remain out of the project. We made our choices and work in one direction all together."

This statement cast doubt on Osimhen’s prospects of playing competitive football for Napoli in the near future. However, there is now a potential shift in the situation. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Turkish club Galatasaray is in negotiations with Napoli regarding Osimhen. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that an agreement has been reached in principle for a season-long loan.

Although most European transfer windows have closed, Turkey's transfer window remains open until Friday, September 13, allowing clubs like Fenerbahce and Galatasaray to continue signing players.
